I’ve been inspired to start the Colourful Women Project after travelling, teaching, creating and connecting with hundreds of women across the world. The idea is to form a collective, bringing together strong, bold and insightful women who create positive space within themselves, for each other and out in the wider world.
I am weaving together the wisdom and colour of women from around the globe, in three separate strands for these #Womankind projects - My aim is to celebrate the feminine, individuality and creative essence.
I aim to produce challenging and beautiful artworks in embroidery and to encourage and promote others creativity wherever possible. I’m a passionate advocate of the power of stitch and am working conscientiously as a creative role model to inspire people to find their own sherry drinking joie de vivre!
These projects have been inspired by teaching ‘Superstitchers' all over the world and the more labour intensive and timely embroidery commissions become, the more important it is to reach out, connect and engage with other people.
Colourful women is about celebrating my friends and to highlight how diverse, relevant and beautiful women are.
(And the scarves look pretty good too!)
